Take me out to the ball game!

People that know me know that I LOVE sport.  I love having a team to loyally support.  I love knowing all the rules, regulations and stats.  I'm just wired that way.  So, moving to the USA posed a dilemma.  I didn't know the sports here!!  No idea of the rules and nuances of baseball, football, basketball.  How was I going to know what was going on, who was doing well, what exactly I wanted the players to be doing??  And it was sooooo overwhelming.  Huge crowds in packed stadiums watching their team play 6 days a week the whole way through the season.  Talk about athletes!  Yikes.

In my determined way, I set out to learn everything I could.  I am happy to report that I have grown to love my US sport.  I have teams I love, players I cheer extra loud for, AND I know (most of) the rules and what the stats mean.  (Quick aside to non-local friends... Americans LOVE their stats... it borders on ridiculous - but I eat it all up!)

This past Sunday Glen and I got to go into San Francisco for the day and watch our first Giants baseball game.  SO SO fun.  It was a close game, but we won!  Yahooo!  Go Giants!  What a beautiful stadium AT&T Park is.  Right on the water, beautiful stands and field, really impressive and it was just exciting to be there.  It was fun seeing everyone in their black white and orange supporter clothes, and be part of the whole live game experience with no ad breaks!  Definitely something we will do again.  :)

Cheers to the Giants!  Here's hoping they finish the season strong.... let's make it to the playoffs!!
