Rainy day fun

On rainy days it can be hard to get up and out of the house, but today we had a list of things to do, so off we all went. And what fun it turned into!! Well... the grocery shopping wasn't that fun. But then we had a list of things we needed from Home Depot and stumbled upon a discovery that will need to become a fixture on my calendar!
On the first Saturday morning of every month they have a free kids workshop. They get a Home Depot apron with their name on it and they work on a project to take home. I'd never taken the kids, but today we signed them up and they had soooo much fun. I guess right now at home they are seeing a lot of the tools being brought out as we settle into the new house and fix odd things, and they are constantly being told not to touch anything. But today.... They built little wheelbarrows to hold potplants. Very cute. Both kids loved the hammering and wood glue and were very impressed when they succeeded in getting everything right and having something to show for it. They were so proud to be using tools like Daddy does!

I think they're pretty excited!
