It truly was wonderful. It started with Hannah having her Thanksgiving Feast at school. It was very cute. All 5 kindergarten classes did a little show of songs and then the families all enjoyed a big potluck feast. Yummy!

She spotted me. :) |
The weekend was just fun family time. The kids had sleep-overs in each other's rooms. On Friday in Oliver's room and on Saturday in Hannah's room. Oliver's room is easier to fall asleep in because he's all business. Read a book. Lie down and sleep. Hannah likes to read her book and then sits playing in her bed for a while before lying down to sleep. But they managed well and loved the fun of it. And didn't wake up earlier than usual, so that's always good. :)

Do these faces look like they are about to go to sleep? I don't think so. |
The week of Thanksgiving Hannah didn't have school, and we just enjoyed the lack of routine. On Monday Hannah had her friend over to do some crafts. He is the sweetest boy. He's in her class at school and they share a lot of common interests, so we had some fun making Thanksgiving picture frames with stickers and glitter glue and such.
The biggest treat of the week was that Glen took Wednesday AND Friday off work, and so on Tuesday we started his 5 day weekend off with a date night. Definitely far too long since we just went and sat and chatted. It was fun. And then came Thanksgiving. :) We did a double dose this year. On Wednesday we went to our friends Tom and Lisa to share Thanksgiving with them and Connor and some of their friends. We walked to the park while the turkey was cooking (a FREEZING day... brrr) and had some fun there, and then home for a FEAST! It was great. I brought crafts for the kids to do once they started to get bored, and so they drew and stuck and had lots of fun.... I did door hanger crafts with them, and then.... the boys got in on some fun. Yes, people, crafting is contagious.

We set the kids up with Toy Story 3 while the adults played cards after dinner. |
Thursday was, of course, Thanksgiving. After the boys hauled in another table from the 'barn' Mom did a great job decorating it, and we cooked and cleaned and watched football and waited for guests to arrive. All in all we had the 4 Cockcrofts, Mom and Dad, Alistair and Jackie, Tom, Lisa and Connor, and Matt and Allie. And again, the most delicious feast. We finished by walking around Coyote Pond park (again, freezing) and home for dessert. Yum. We are so thankful. It really is amazing to us how blessed our life is and how much we have to be thankful for. We talk about it all the time. God bless America as it has blessed us.

Mom's beautiful table setting - fresh cranberries, nuts and flowers made "green" centerpieces and she sewed up a new beautiful runner for the tables too. Love it! | |
And then came Black Friday. I can't help it. I get sucked in by the fun of it. I had had my eye on some things, and so when Black Friday came around I admit that I did go shopping. However, not at the crack of dawn. At normal time. 9am-ish. I didn't get any of the $300 40" tvs, but I did get what I set out for on sale, so that was a success. A smidge more shopping online later and we are almost set for the kids' Christmas.
After all this fun STILL a weekend. Such a rare treat to have all this family time. Yahoo for days off!!
